Okay my dermatologist wants to put me on birth control for my acne. My only problem is I heard it causes hair loss... just wondering how common that is.. I'm worried about this because I love my hair and it's already not all that thick. I'm 17 by the way.Did birth control cause YOU to have hair loss?
i hope this will help you out. the connection between birth control and hair loss Estrogen has been used by these researchers, which is one main ingredients in the oral contraceptives used today, and they have found that extension of hair growth is a prominent side effect of this ingredient.

Although this may sound like a good thing it actually is not. It causes the hair to reach it's resting phase and fall out more quickly, this is at least for a period of time, of which is approximately three to four months after the woman begins taking the pills.

This type of hair loss is not that common and does not last long, so if you are woman who is taking or considering taking these form of contraceptives and you are worried about the hair loss then you should have nothing really to worry about.

hope that answer your questionDid birth control cause YOU to have hair loss?
every person's experience differs when it comes to birth control. Some women experience weight gain, some weight loss. Some experience their boobs getting bigger, others don't.

I have been on the pill for about 10 years now, and I have never experienced any hair loss. It has helped me tremendously for my cystic acne, and I am fearful of ever going off of it to be honest. I don't want to break out like I used to.

The only way you can tell if it's going to affect you is to try it out. Try it at least 3 months so it's in your system. If you see something you don't like while being on it, then you can stop.
I have never ever heard that going on birth control causes hair loss. Where are you getting this information?

It didn't happen for me, and I've been on it for three years. Go for it!
