What do you recommend for hair loss?

I have really thin, fine hair and loose a lot of it while i brush it. Help! What do you recommend for hair loss?
I have a friend with the same dilemma. It turned out she's stressed out from all the preparation for her wedding day. Her dermatologist meanwhile advised that she should avoid shampoo, gel or any hair commercial products. They are loaded with chemicals that makes hair loss worse. She was given a natural and organic hair soap with patchouli as main ingredient. What do you recommend for hair loss?
It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.
Sorry about your problem, I suffered from the same thing. I visited a salon in Manchester called P,HAIR where they specialise in natural hair loss treatments.I was really happy with the results. The salon is not far out of the city centre and i would really recommend a visit or even a call for advice i did. They are on oldham rd and their phone number is 010612036476 I hope they can help you like they have helped me.
If you don't already, take a multivitamin

take zinc and B12(my doctor recommended this for my skin and hair problems) supplements in addition to the multivitamin

get more protein and just eat healthy food

you can also try putting olive oil or amla oil(has a strong weird smell) in you hair once a week, and gently massage your scalp everyday

don't use any chemicals in your hair and don't put it up, also you can try washing your hair with organic shampoos(you can find these at whole foods) or herbal products(you can find at Indian stores):

(shikakai powder- I use this and I like how gentle it is on my hair and it feels thicker)

.....it is probably from stress so just try to get enough sleep, however if you're experiencing other strange symptoms then it could possibly be a hormonal problem....

I hope you solve your problem, but if it gets worse please see a doctor.
I have been losing my hair for a few years now, if medical problems can be ruled out you can try hair and nail vitamins (you can get them at any pharmacy and GNC), moisturizing shampoos and conditioners, trying not to wear pony tails instead use claw clips that will hold back your hair loosely.Watch how much hair product you put in your hair to like hair spray and gels etc. Other than that theres not much else you can do if theres nothing medically wrong.
I have much experience with ALL aspects of the hair and scalp. I am a master stylist of 20+ years. I have the skill as well as knowledge of the structure, function, and anatomy of the hair, but I can only do so much. That's where science has to step in. For years I have researched for the sake of my clients, something that would restore what some of them were losing. Especially my female clients, male clients as well, but women have a much harder time coping. Men would after surviving the jabs now and then as well as the stares, develop ';thick skin'; (or so they would say). My first priority was getting the job done. The second priority ( a major push via my male clients) was it not cost an arm and a leg! All the products we tried promised ';much';, but...some just promised and others didn't work too bad (some smelled awful). Until we found one that hit our ';doesn't cost an arm and a leg'; and really worked! http://www.amazing-results-now.com I'll admit, in the begining I was sceptical, but seeing is believing! It was impressive, the hair starts coming in like fuzz. Fine and downy. My clients started to get excited (especially women, you know men, they we’re...”yeah, not too bad”), but when it starts to thicken, then even the guys are “check it out!”, and the women were BEYOND EXCITED. My clients thing I'm a miracle worker (even though I only just found it). I even had one of my clients start crying and she kept going on about how she was so happy that I gave her, her hair back. That really touched me. I've allways taken great pride in what I do for my clients. Oh, and they show me they appreciate it too (especially when Christmas rolls around). Although you're not my client, I know that this will help you as well. Follow my advice and your hair loss issue will all be a thing of the past. You can keep watching it fall out and wishing it would stop, but we both know that won't change a thing. IF you really want your hair back, I've given you THE answer. There's nothing more I can do for you. All you have to do is DO IT. Take care.
In my opinion, for a healthy, natural, inexpensive way to experience hair re-growth, put aside potentially dangerous synthesized medications. Instead, focus on the natural, anciently-used herbs for the healthiest and the best hair loss treatment.

Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar (add around 2 tbsp in a mug of water and use it as a last rinse) this prevents hair loss. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
My sympathies.
I've heard Nioxin is great for hair loss. And of course you will have to rethink your diet and lifestyle.
Advanced hair, Yeah yeah
