What is the best vitamin to use for hair loss?
Stacey, before you begin to take vitamin supplement i believe it would be ideal to ascertain that you are not suffering from female pattern baldness because if that is the case taking vitamins alone would not be sufficient. There are several reasons behind hair loss apart from vitamin deficiency and you can find most of the common reasons at this url : http://www.hairfallguide.com/hair-loss-p

However if you would like to straight away choose vitamins and other nutrients which would help you in preventing hair loss and also aid general hair condition you should have a look at this page http://www.hairfallguide.com/nutritionalWhat is the best vitamin to use for hair loss?
Sounds like you need to up your protein. I have the same problem with my hair and it always gets noticeable bad when I'm not eating right (eating snake foods, energy bars, quick and easy foods). Before you go out and invest in vitamins you might try cooking up a steak or burger...some kind of meat product. If you don't do meat there are a lot of other high protein sources you can use, let me know if you need a list.

As for the greasiness, I can only assume it's being caused by you playing with your hair when you go to pull out/check for loose hairs. Try not to fish the loose hairs out cause it causes unnecessary stress on the hair which can cause it to fall out easier.
Vitamin E and hair loss

Hair and scalp care is just one of the many functions of Vitamin E. Vitamin E has the ability to slow down the aging process specifically graying of the hair. Vitamin E is also necessary in providing the scalp a good blood circulation by intensifying the uptake of oxygen. In this case, the hair will become healthier and baldness will be avoided.

Some food sources that are rich in vitamin E are green leafy vegetables like spinach, cold-pressed vegetable oils, wheat germ oil, nuts, grains, soybeans, eggs, and most cereals, which are fortified with vitamin E. Although these foods rich in vitamin E can be easily obtained, some people, specifically those who are experiencing hair loss, needs to take in added vitamin E supplement to solve their problems.
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm
