Ok, Im 18 and I had a full head of hair 2 years ago (2 years ago I also was diagnosed with epilepsy and was put on Valproic Acid, which has a side effect of hair loss. There are few alternatives concerning medication (some actually induce more seizures!)) Anyway, Ive been steady on the meds for 2 years, and my hairline has gone from straight to a very noticeable widows peak and the density of the hair on the top of my head has decreased, but the sides are as thick as they were 2 years ago. My dad also started going bald in his 30's but Im only 18, are the meds really speeding up the hair loss? Is there a way to stop this other than hair surgery/transplants?18 with Bad Hair Loss, Ways to Reverse/Fix It?
Rubbing castor oil on the bald spots may help, for some people it makes their hair thicker and grow faster. You can get it in the laxatives section of the grocery store. Just to be safe you may want to ask your doctor if that's alright to use with your medication. I kind of doubt it would, but better safe than sorry.18 with Bad Hair Loss, Ways to Reverse/Fix It?
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

Use a shampoo and conditioner especially formulated for hair loss, try to thicken your hair... And consult your neurologist and dermatologist as soon as possible, they can help you a lot... Talk to them about the medication issues and about what can you do to solve your hair problem... Do it urgently!
Well since the cause of your hair loss is the Valproic Acid that you're taking, you might want to talk to your doctor and see if they have other meds that can replace it. I'm thinking that once you're off meds that causes hair loss, your hair will eventually grow back.
