The Truth About Hair Loss

It is normal to shed hair every day and the truth is we loose between 100-125 hairs on any given day. Hair that is shed falls out at the end of growth cycle. At any given time 10% of our hair is in what is called a “resting phase” and after 2-3 months resting, hair falls out and new hair grows in its place. Some people, however, experience more hair loss than is normal.

As we get older, both men and women experience some hair loss. It’s a normal part of the aging process. Called Androgenetic Alopecia, it accounts for 95% of all hair loss. Androgentic Alopecia often runs in families and affects some people more than others. In men it is often referred to as Male Pattern Baldness.

It is characterized by a receding hair line and baldness on the top of head. Women, on the other hand, don’t go entirely bald even if their hair loss is severe. Instead, hair loss is spread out evenly over their entire scalp.

Hormones play the dominant role when talking about Androgenetic Alopecia. Simple put, both men and women produce testosterone. Testosterone can be converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) with the aid of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. DHT shrinks hair follicles causing the membranes in the scalp to thicken, become inelastic and restrict blood flow. This causes the hair follicles to atrophy. As a result, when a hair does fall out, it is not replaced.

Needless to say, men produce more testosterone than women and experience more hair loss.

While Androgenetic Alopecia is the number one reason why individuals experience hair loss, it is not the only one. Medical conditions such as hypothyroidism, ringworm and fungal infections can cause hair loss. Certain medications such as blood thinners, gout medication, birth control pills and too much vitamin A can cause sudden or abnormal hair loss as can following a crash diet, sudden hormonal changes, chemotherapy and radiation.

Emotional stress, pregnancy, or surgery can also cause our hair to fall out and is usually not noticed until 3-4 months after the stressful event has taken place. Stress can cause a slowing of new hair growth because a larger number of hair follicles enter into the resting phase and no new hair growth is experienced.

Another way in which individuals experience hair loss is due to mechanical stressors on the hair and scalp. Wearing pigtails, cornrows or tight rollers that end up pulling on the hair can scar the scalp and cause permanent hair loss. Hair products such as hot oil treatments and chemicals used for permanents can cause inflammation to the hair follicles which can also result in scarring and hair loss.

Hi there, have you ever heard about Provillus? I heard about it from my friend, who is apparently losing some hair too and so far it looks like that product is giving some hair back to him.

Basically it's a natural product including Vitamin B6, Zinc, Magnesium and many other minerals which are important for healthy hair. I'm not so expert authority what comes to hair loss but you can find all information needed about the product from their site.

They're now offering a 2 month supply of the product on their site as a free trial. I'm personally not any bald yet, but I took that free trial just in case because the offer is valid only for the limited time. ;-)
Provillus is an all-natural supplement available without a prescription. Provillus comes in a convenient tablet form and topical solution that are used daily for the treatment of male hair loss. Provillus is effective in reversing hair loss in men caused by androgenetic alopecia, the most common cause of male hair loss. Androgenetic alopecia results in thinning hair and the familiar receding hairline seen in most cases of mal and female hair loss.

You can order a free product of Hair Loss from the source link below. So far all I have heard is that the Enchanced Hair Loss Product is helping people to restore hair fast.
Hi Joshiakash28,

Nothing is worse than losing your hair, so I feel your frustration.

There are many ways to help prevent hair loss, revitalise your current hair, and stimulate your scalp to replace the hair that you have already lost.

The best products are ALWAYS herbal based. Never rely on any products that are high in chemicals, because they will generally do you more harm than good, especially if you have a sensative scalp (which you obviously do, since you are losing hair!).

The most noteworthy supplements for hair regrowth are:

Saw Palmetto

Inositol (B-type Vitamin found in liver)

Biotin

Zinc

Choline

Pantothenic Acid

Check out my link if you would like to buy the supplement online, or go to your local healthfood provider.

By looking after your hair both internally, and externally, you can expect some very fast, dramatic results.

Good luck my friend!
I definitely know what your talking about. I come from a big family with 6 brothers that all have hair loss issues. my one brother started using this product called Provillus and he swears by it. My other brothers are slowly coming around to trying it. He definitely looks better! It also works for women.
Apply a paste of hot olive oil and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder before bath and keep for 15 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo. This when done at least once a week will arrest hair fall. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
