Has anyone ever used propecia or something else for hair loss?

Please tell how well it workedHas anyone ever used propecia or something else for hair loss?
I used many products. The topical stuff is OK if you are just starting to thin or have Minor hair loss. But it takes a while to work (if it works at all), and for some people they only grow peach fuzz or at least stall the hair loss for a while.

I used propecia, and it works great, but not all people respond to it. You have to take it for at least 6 months to a year before you will notice if it is working for you. For some people it slows/stops the current hair loss, and for others it actually grows hair. The thing is, once you start, you cannot stop. If you do, you will continue to lose your hair again.

By far the most effective treatment for hair loss has been the micro surgical hair transplantation procedure. it will run you about 8 to 10,000 dollars and you may have to go back more than once for therapy, progress check ups and even another follow up procedure. Even so, they do NOT guarantee the results. Usually a combination of all three methods works well to combat hair loss. My suggestion is to start as early as possible. The longer you wait to regain/retain your hair, the harder it will be for you.Has anyone ever used propecia or something else for hair loss?
Hair falls due to genetic reasons, stress, pollution, thyroid imbalance, chemicals in hair styling products and lack of proper nutrition. Home remedies are cheap , natural and without any side effects. Some of the home remedies for treating hair fall are:

1.Apply the white of a raw egg on the hair for 30 minutes, and then wash it off with a shampoo. A mixture of lemon juice and egg white could also be used to strengthen the roots of hair.

2. Massage the head with oil for 15-20 minutes and then rinse with a shampoo. A hot oil massage with olive oil will also help.

3.Apply a mixture of lemon juice and juice of amla to the scalp. This also helps control dandruff in the hair

4. Boil neem leaves in water for an hour and let it cool. Wash the hair with this water. Alternately neem oil can be mixed with coconut oil and massaged where there is hair fall

5. The juice of fresh coriander can be massaged onto the scalp will reduce hair loss.

6. Ensure that you eat nutritious food, with plenty of leafy vegetables. Have a soya milk drink and multivitamin tablets if you do not have time to have a healthy breakfast.

7. Apply conditioner only to your hair not to the scalp or hair roots. The conditioner could damage your hair. Henna (mehandi) will help control hair loss.

8.Try to reduce the stress and tension in your life, learn to relax. Stress causes hair loss.

I hope these remedies solve your problem

What is the remedy for hair loss in German shephards?

change his diet to rawWhat is the remedy for hair loss in German shephards?
good nutricious food that contain proteinsWhat is the remedy for hair loss in German shephards?
a nutritious diet. One that is appropriate for its age.
German Shepards, especially long-haired ones, shed a lot naturally. Because they get the thick coat in the winter and the thinner one during the summer. Give them a bath every other day be sure to brush them daily. Also, try to keep the dog either inside most of the day, or outside most of the day. The different temperatures will increase the shedding, too.
Vet care.
Your doggie needs PROTEINS immediately!!
We use a fatty acid suppliment in my dog's food. Also.. A fish based kibble might help. Mine is on Pinnacle's trout and potato.
There is no remedy for hair loss in German shephards. They have to shed their coats. Now if you dog is shedding so much hair till you are seeing bald spots then you may want to use a medicated shampoo. Another thing that I have used in my many years of owning dogs has been a mixture of pertrolem jelly, sulfer, and iodine all mixed together. This is good for healing cuts and stimulates hair regrowth.

Hope this helps you out!!

this can be done once to twice a weak, and the other days while washing your hair try not to use the comb.

Most doctors wouldn't even have heard of Saw Palmetto/Serenoa Repens. Infact, most of them are not trichologists but are mere dermatolgists or just general physicians who won't have a complete update about hair technologies. So, everything would be guided by pure commerce ! Overrule all chemical/drug formulations like Finasteride/Minoxidil/Propecia/Proscar/Retc. All of these have severe side-effects. The best treatment for hairloss is Saw Palmetto based. If Saw Palmetto is further fortified, nothing like it. Going by the site of Segals Solutions, it is and hence should be most ideal.

In Mumbai, it is available at the revitaltrichology centre.
You can save your hair by segals solution...you can get it from Andery east...

What's good for hair loss any home remedies?

i'm 32 and my hair falls alot is thier any home remedies (natural)that i can do at home , i've heard about jalapenos ,to blend some jalapenos put it on your hair minutes before showering and it helps open your pores isit true or not?? please helpWhat's good for hair loss any home remedies?
Hair loss contributes to a lots of factors. Sleep should be proper. Minimum 6 hours of sound sleep. Drink plenty of fluids. 8 glasses minimum or even upto 8 litres per day. Water is the best drink I would suggest and it also cleanses the digestive system. Water drinking also improves hair health and hair growth, just like you water your plants. If less water, your plants die. Same logic applies for hair on our head. Try using one shampoo and stick to it. Also use a conditioner, dont use hot water, and dont use hair dryer. Wipe off the wetness of your wet hair with a soft bath towel. Use coconut oil as it really helps in hair growth and general and overall maintenance of your hair. Gingely oil also helps. Coconut oil a few drops before shower and it can also be utilized daily. But dont apply it on wet hair. Gingely oil you can use in large quantities and wait for 1 hour and take shower. Gingely oil can be applied all over your body also. This cools down the body heat and promotes hair growth. White part of the egg also helps in hair nutrition. So just apply and wait for 30 minutes and take a shower. And hair care is about what you eat also. If you are a meat eater, am sorry. Take more fish and that only helps. Omega 3 tablets if any if you are a vegetarian. The oil and mercury in it helps in hair growth and good for eye sight too. Eat more green leafy veggies. Thats the main important thing. Refrain from using hairsprays/hair color/hair gels/hair cream, mousse, wax and clay. Just leave it after washing. If you feel you got long hair, go for a trim or just leave it ... use coconut oil. Believe me, its an overall nutrition support system for daily maintenance of our head hair. Just a few drops will do. Thats it. Worst case scenario ... try to visit a dermatologist ... and sincerely follow what he/shesays.What's good for hair loss any home remedies?
Traditional shampoos have a foaming agent in them that is a known carcinogen. While there is no proof that this causes hair loss, it certainly cannot be helpful. You should start by finding a good natural hair care product that will not aggrivate these things. Arbonne International sells a product that uses thermal fusion to stimulate hair growth. If you are interested in more information on it, just send me an email and I will send you some information. fairynanook@yahoo.com
    chia pet
Jalapino's will not do anything, unless you get some in your eyes, and that's just gonna hurt like heck. GNC makes a vitamen for hair called ';Hair Nourish'; or ';Nourish Hair'; I forget which one. I've heard good things about those.

    I started eating more healthy.

    Became more active - exercised.

    Got a girlfriend =)

And started using natural hair products.

Hope it helpsWhat are you doing for hair loss?
well I've got this book that's about natural remedies and stuff for various things.. this is what it says that is an option..

    ';An hour before bedtime, slice open a clove of garlic and rub it on the hairless area. An hour later, massage the scalp with olive oil, put on a cap and go to bed. The next morning, shampoo. Repeat the procedure for a few weeks and, hopefully, hair will have stopped falling out and there will be regrowth showing.';

I'm assuming you don't have bald spots and just have hair falling out.. maybe it can still be used.. idk but I thought I'd share it. Do you have a lot or just a little.. cuz it's normal to lose about 100-150 hairs per day.
I massage my hairs once in a week. Use a shampoo which suits my hairs alternate day. Eat a healthy diet with a plenty of vegetables and salad. I'm not too much worried about it. Because it comes with increasing age. I like living without tension and stress. Because it is also a main cause of hair fall.
    use keshyog everyday
I keep the skins of Tickle Me Elmos around to wear.

What can cause hair loss? My hair is naturally full and thick with volume. Now it's thin and flat. This just started happening last month. What is it? What can i do about it?I'm 17 yrs old. Is it bad for hair loss to happen at my age? ?
yes it's bad. go see a doctorI'm 17 yrs old. Is it bad for hair loss to happen at my age? ?
    Hi,

There are a number of reasons for hair loss

Infection : Fungal infections can cause hair loss.

Medication - if you are on any medication, check the side effects.

Not sure if you are female but it has been known for pregnancy to cause hair loss.

Stress - stress can cause hair loss

Your best bet is to discuss this with your Doctor.

Hair loss can start at a very young age; a co-worker of mine shaves his head now because he had a bald spot starting and he is only 19. Genetics bud.

My genes loose their hair eventually. So I have like 22 inches of hair everywhere on my head so when I do start to go bald. Kome Over!
It is possible that stress could cause as quick change like this, however, any time you have a sudden change in your body, you should go to the doctor to make sure it is not a symptom of something more serious.

Okay I am not gonna throw something out there like cancer to freak you out!! lol. It could be serious or it could be something easier to fix like stress... you should go to the Dr. though. I mean if your not just talking about a little more than normal. But hand fulls...Definately!
This could happen if you change shampoos a lot, or it can also be caused by a nutritional difficiancy.
yes its bad if yu dye yer hair it could be cuz of that. yu could maybe even have cancer if i was yu i would go see a doctor.
You could be going through a growth phase (ie. puberty) and the problem could settle down at the end.

TRACTION ALOPECIA is loss of hair primarily along the hairline, especially around the temples and above the ears. It is a result of tension caused by certain tight hairstyles-namely weaves, braids and ponytails. It is reversible when it first appears; however, if left untreated, over time it becomes permanent.

    G'day mate,

The secret to sustained results is consistently using a high quality product, for the long term.

You also need to focus on your internal health, rather that simply relying on a shampoo or other topical agent. A supplement high in the following should be taken daily.

    Biotin

    Saw Palmetto

    Zinc

    Muria Puama

    Vitamin B6

Try asking your local health food store whether they stock a supplement containing these, or you can check out my source link for a place you can buy them online. They actually have a free trial at the moment, so you can make sure you like it first.

    Good Luck!

year ago my husband suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice (you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for him!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed and Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

As hairloss cannot be fully cured, but just frozen for some time witht the treatments availiable on market today I'd sasy.

    1) Hair transplant (FUE technology) creates really natural hairline, no scars, the best way to go if you have enough donor hair and money of course.

    2. Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil are the only ones approved by FDA and proven to work in most men so far.

Generic Propecia (finasteride) is also ok. I use it with same results, and unfortunately same sides(a bit dry feeling in the scalp) as brand propecia. Have tried lots of herbal crap before it and laser combs, so far the only thing that prevents my hairloss, not much regrowth, but has stopped my hairloss completely.

I buy from this pharmacy for the last 2 years - http://www.1rx.biz/generic_propecia.html . It is under $1 per pill as I buy the 90 pills. (89$ for 90)

From what I hear, none of them work the same on every man. Your best bet is to try several types (in succession, not at the same time) and see which one...if ANY, work best for you.

Sincerely though...there's nothing wrong with being bald. Guys shave their heads all the time nowadays, and they have a full head of hair.
a very sharp razor... zip zip and it's all gone.

Anyone know of a home remedy for hair loss that is effective? My hair is so thin now, I cant hide the baldspots?

I need something that actually make the hair grow back if anyone knows....ThanksAnyone know of a home remedy for hair loss that is effective? My hair is so thin now, I cant hide the baldspots?
This natural, safe treatment truly stops loss almost straight away and forces new growth (can send you testimonials). Massage thoroughly with olive or any natural oil - then brush vigorously using a palm held brush with short natural boar bristles - soft bristled for fine straight hair and stiff bristled for thicker non straight hair- so you really feel it stimulating scalp - 90 /100 strokes at beginning building up to more - each day, focusing on where loss is. Will heal scalp and unplug blocked hair ducts that sometimes cause loss - they are the painful small itching spots. A little shedding and breakage may occur at first but quickly stops as brushing makes hair stronger and better anchored. Hair will grow fast, thicker and It will force the new growth. Initially new hairs will be weak looking and sparse. Don't be concerned if brushing uproots them as they will re-appear even stronger. My hair has completely regrown on crown. Where receded at front regrowth was slower and sparse at first then each month it became denser. It demands perseverance week in, week out to get the same results.

Thinning and loss can be caused by many shampoos - particularly anti dandruff ones - and hair products that contain countless hair, scalp and even health harming harsh and toxic ingredients. Find ';Non harmful shampoos, etc'; with Google searches. Some will come up and be expensive or only available on-line so refine search by adding ';low cost';. Available in GNC, Trader Joes, Some Walmart Stores, Cost Plus, Wegmans, Earth Fare, natural %26amp; health foods stores.

I Have had feed back from others. One had substantial regrowth in just 6 months.

    Wish you the best.

if u have such severe hair loss that head is starting to show, this is sometimes a kind of illness. Unless u have already been to the doctors and knw wats goin on, then they can tell u some medical treatment.

For a home made treatment, Garlic Cloves..

I knw it can be really annoying and sometimes even disgusting but i Knw for a fact that it will grow hair..

simply message bald spot with it 3 times a week.

The trick is that u have to continue doing so ..

u cant just stop in two weeks or even 6 and say this isn't working!!

My wife's hair is really thinning out. Any suggestions for hair loss?

My wife's hair is really thinning out,She's hardly ever has a day off of work, n uses hairspray everyday, How often does she need to let her hair breath..? Does anyone know what's good for hair loss?My wife's hair is really thinning out. Any suggestions for hair loss?
Actually some time stressors to your system, such as illness, high fever, pregnancy, extreme weight loss or gain, and drug use, can cause temporary hair loss. This occurs when the ratio of growing to resting hairs is upset and more of the growing hair shifts into a resting phase. A greater quantity of normally sleeping hairs falls out, prompting a visit to the dermatologist. This type of hair loss is temporary and full regrowth should be expected. If she is such type of hair loss then this is not worrysome thing.

Second thing regarding thinining of hair in women is female pattern baldness. In which thinning of hair is more severe on the front, the temples and at the top. Some hair is generally present at the hair line despite patches of extensive baldness in rest of the scalp.

My wife's hair is really thinning out. Any suggestions for hair loss?
Hair loss can be attributed to a variety of things. You said she doesn't take much time off work which can indicate a high level of stress. In very stressful situations, hair will fall out in alarming amounts.

When was the last time she had a check up? Hair loss can also be a symptom of thyroid problems. She may want to speak to her general practitioner or a dermatologist for possible health problems.

Using hairspray everyday and blow drying aren't major factors in hair loss. If she is washing her hair nightly, it keeps her hair healthy. But if the problem persists, I suggest seeking medical advise.
Female hair loss is most often caused by similar genetic and hormonal triggers as cause pattern hair loss in men. Women do not typically suffer from a receding hair line which is characteristic of male pattern baldness. However, for millions of women the hair does become thinner and finer over time.

It is not uncommon for women in their late thirties or early forties to begin losing hair. This is thought in a meaningful degree to be related to hormonal changes that define entry into menopause.

Drug based treatment options for women include those readily available for men such as 2% minoxidil. However 5% minoxidil and oral finasteride are not indicated for use by women. Interestingly, spironolactone and flutamide, drugs wholly unsuitable for men suffering hair loss, have been used successfully by some females. Each drug mentioned has potential side effects which must be carefully considered against its potential benefit.

Non-drug based treatment choices, based on botanicals such as saw palmetto and other naturally-derived substances now exist. The advantage of this approach is the low incidence of negative side effect. The disadvantage is the lack of standardization in dosage and potency which ranges across a broad spectrum depending on the product selected. Further, many non-drug hair loss treatment products offer little or no objective evidence to support their claims and instead rely on tactics like testimonials --- often of questionable pedigree.

Regardless of the mode of treatment considered, hair loss therapy should only follow once a definitive diagnosis has been obtained. Baseline photos should be taken and follow up photos taken on a regular basis in order to determine the benefit one's treatment is --- or is not providing.

For women concerned about hair loss it is best to enlist the aid of one's primary care physician. In this as in other areas of health related issues, your doctor is almost always your best advocate.

There are a lot of reasons why your wife's hairs are falling. One of the main condition can be considered as Telogen Effluvium, which is a shock of your body's system causing the hair to fall out in vast amounts over a short period of time.

Firstly you will have to get to the center of the problem and based on your question it's mostly stress or age related that causes the hair loss..not the hair spray. Hair sprays are not known as a cause of hair loss because hair loss happens beneath the hair follicles.. It might be related to an underlying medical symptom.
Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

My hair only started visibly growing on the balding spot after attempting the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair for about 1 week plus @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info

I would highly recommend the website easy to follow step-by-step guide with images to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. But remember this isn't a miracle cure for baldness as you will also need to put in some effort in order to see results. And its only a minimum commitment of 15 minutes a day to help re-grow your lost hair.

I am also convinced that the natural approach is much more safer and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.

Side Effects Of Minoxidil : Cause a fall in blood pressure, an increase in the heart rate, and weight gain (fluid retention)

***** Sorry that I can't share the various techniques taught as i might be sued for copyright violation.
Hair loss can just be hereditary, or a sign of a significant health problem. Hair loss can be a symptom of thyroid disease or celiac disease (wheat allergy) to just name a few. Stress or hair products probably are not the source of the problem, but stress can contribute to symptoms of disease. A trip to her physician might be the best action. For more info on Celiac disease see www.celiac.org.
hairspray will make hair brittle and break stop using it. does she dye her hair too? if she does try using a rinse or semi permanent because the peroxide in dye can really do damage long term. an old wog remedy for hair loss is to getstinging nettle ( use gloves obviously) and put in a pot of boiling water as if to make tea, remove nettle and cool water, use this to wash hair its supposed to be good to stop hair falling out.
Hm, she should use less of the hairspray, maybe she can try other products like gel...

And if she often dyes her hair to cover grays, etc, she should slow down to about once a month if she's doing it more than that amount...

%26amp; she can try dye that's specifically made for gray hair coverage where you only put the dye on the roots...

any thickening/volumizing shampoo %26amp; conditioner should help.
Robert, One of my college roomates started loosing his hair last year. After several types of herbal, homebrew, and who knows what from the internet, he ultimately chose to visit a hair loss center. Initially he was scared to go becasue he was scared it would cost too much, but he learned a lot from the free consultations. After 12 months he is finally starting to regain some hair. I wish I know exactly what treatment he is using, but maybe you could call a local clinic. http://www.hairlossandtreatment.com

What are some reasons for hair loss in a teen?

An estimated 95 percent of hair loss is genetic, but other factors, such as nutrition, overall health, hormone deficiencies, overcoloring of hair and emotional stress, can be controlled somewhat.

    Instructions

    * STEP 1: Wash your hair regularly in warm water and use a deep conditioner.

    * STEP 2: Eat a balanced diet. Nutritional deficiencies, eating disorders and excessive amounts of certain vitamins, such as A and E, can cause hair loss.

    * STEP 3: Take care of your health. Chronic illness, high fevers and infections can contribute to hair loss.

    * STEP 4: Stay away from harsh chemicals - permanent hair color and perms are the most damaging - and avoid coloring your hair more than once every six to eight weeks.

    * STEP 5: Avoid hairstyles like ponytails and cornrows, which stretch and pull hair.

    * STEP 6: Keep in mind that it's normal to lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day.

    * STEP 7: Consult your general physician or dermatologist regarding concerns about hair loss.

    Tips %26amp; Warnings

    * Because of hormonal changes in their bodies, nearly 50 percent of women experience hair loss after pregnancy. Normal hair production will eventually resume, though it can take as long as six months.

    * Some methods of preventing hair loss are merely old wives' tales. These include massaging your scalp, standing on your head to increase blood flow to hair follicles, and vigorous hair brushing.

    * If you experience a sudden hair loss not related to pregnancy, age or other explainable factors, contact your doctor.

    * Using Propecia or Minoxidil (Rogaine) produces varied results. Discuss your expectations and concerns with your doctor. What are some reasons for hair loss in a teen?
Stress, genes, diet, an infection, an underlying disease. These are not strictly for teens, but hair loss can begin at any age, usually 15-35 for males. What are some reasons for hair loss in a teen?
My husband started loosing patches of hair when he was a teenager. For him it turned out to be alopecia. He eventually lost all of his hair and has never regrown it. There are new treatments out for that now but they would need to get to it when it first starts happening. You could research alopecia on yahoo to see if this applies to you.

It could also simply be a genetic thing. Just because you are a teen, that doesn't mean that it can't start happening. Just take a look at your father and uncles and grandfather. If they have thinning/balding hair that's probably all this is.

It could also be a thyroid condition or simply just a dietary thing.

To set your mind at ease, see your doctor.

    Good Luck!
it can have a lot to do with diet..... too much vitamin C can cause your hair to fall out.... but you have to eat A LOT of vitamin C for that to happen. Also, if you recently went on a diet to loose weight, you should make sure you are still eating enough protein and fiber, because that can also make your hair fall out.
Not doing all of your homework in school.
runs in the family is 1 reason and stress is another reason.
Genetics.....or maybe shampoo is too strong.
